After forecasters predicted a big freeze across the UK in October it seems that we are actually having a much warmer October than usual.

The 1st of October temperatures reached record breaking heights across the UK.

The highest temperature on the 1st was 29.9 degrees Celsius.

Now that October is nearly over and the clocks going back this weekend it seems that the unseasonably warm weather is set to continue with the temperature on Sunday getting up to 17 degrees on Sunday.

The weather forecast for the weekend in Quedgeley is as follows:

Saturday 29th October - There will be sunny spells throughout the day and temperatures will reach 13 degrees. However later in the day the wind will pick up making it feel cooler. There may also be showers later in the evening.

Sunday 30th October - Although it will be cloudier on Sunday the temperature will get up to 17 degrees in the day and at night only falling to around 15 degrees. There will be less wind on Sunday which will also make it feel warmer.

Monday 31st October (Halloween) - Throughout the day the temperature will reach around 15 degrees and it will be cloudy. There will be showers overnight and temperatures will get down to 9 degrees.

Average temperatures in October for the South of the UK is normally between 10 and 12 degrees so on Sunday the temperature should get to between 5 and 7 degrees higher than average.

The weather has been a lot warmer for this time of year. So far I have yet to de-frost my windscreen which is nice. I had heard a lot of news about the 'Big Freeze' and stocked up on anti-freeze ready for the weather so have been pleasently suprised that I havent had to use it. It has been really sunny as well which is so much nicer than grey cloudy weather.
