Gloucester City Council want you to have a say on where you think the Council could be saving money as more cuts are on their way for 2012.

There has been a series of road shows organised to that tax payers can give their opinions on the cuts.

This is part of a "you say we listen" budget consultation exercise as there is going to be cut backs of around £2 million pounds this year.

This is your opportunity to say where you think cuts can be made in the Council or give ideas for to increase its income for the next financial year starting in April.

The road shows are as listed:

  • Asda Metz Way Friday 6th Jan from 10am - 2pm.
  • Morrisons Abbeydale Monday 9th Jan 10am - 2pm.
  • Tesco Quedgeley Tuesday 10th Jan 10am - 2pm.
  • Gloucestershire College Thursday 12th Jan 10am - 2pm.
  • Eastgate Shopping Centre Friday 13th Jan 10am - 2pm.
  • Kingswalk Shopping  Centre Saturday 14th Jan 10am - 2pm.

Its nice to know that the Council are willing to listen to our ideas. In these tough times every one has to budget and fresh ideas are always helpful. It is a shame that 2012 will see more cuts though it would have been nice if the out look for the year was more positive but at least by asking the public where the cuts should be made we get a chance to have our say.
