It's the Redding Festival as Scott prepares to take star billing

A MULTITUDE of top-class riders are set to ride at the second annual Prescott Bike Festival, including Quedgeley star Scott Redding – who claims top billing.

Redding became the youngest ever rider to win a Grand Prix when he triumphed in the British 125GP at Donington Park in 2008 aged just 15.

He has since stepped up to become one of the finest competitors in the Moto2 class and will officially open the event on Sunday, April 22.

The festival was conceived to raise awareness and funds for the Nationwide Association of Blood Bikes and one of its member groups, Severn Freewheelers and all the proceeds from this year's event will go to these two organisations.

Other top stars set to compete include John Reynolds, multiple British Superbike Champion, Taylor McKenzie, a competitor in the MotoGP 125cc World Championship and Chris Hodgson, twice British Supermoto champion.

Also pitting their bikes against the famous Prescott Hill will be Martin Robbins, British Hill Climb champion, Richard Blakeman, a member of the British Supermoto team and Mel Falconer, 250cc hill climb class winner.

Completing the lineup are Ben Wilkins, 1300cc hill climb class winner and the AP Kawasaki BSB Team of Freddie Russo, Anthony Haywood and Leon Hunt.

The Festival will feature a Race Bikes Thru' the Ages display, allowing festival goers not only to view rare and early machinery and modern MotoGP bikes – but to see many in action.

There will also be a children's demo area, a new Orchard Food and Bar Village, and Run the Hill Fancy Dress competition.
