Quedgeley Methodist Church Fete held at in the garden of Acre House home of the Brearey family 1986

Found this picture taken over 25 years ago at Acre House on the Bristol Rd It was the Methodist church fancy dress competition ,My son is the Roman soldier , aged about 4 ,(he's almost 30 now !)He's wearing armour I made out of corrugated cardboard sprayed silver ,& is carrying a standard with 'GLEVUM' on it I thought he was certain to win with the 'onward Christian soldier '/local history connection but was beaten by Noddy & Big Ears and deservedly so ........they looked fantastic !
