What a great photo, having the right equipment and the skill to use it can make such fantastic results. I have neither, so it is good to know there are local folks who do!

As for Clearwater Drive itself - The Parish Councillors, as well as City Councillors and Jackie Hall in the County council have pushed hard to ensure no development happens on this site. At the moment we are winning, in the recent City plan and Vision event, Jackie Hall stated that the County Council has no desire to see this site develop.

There are a number of ideas in the pipeline to secure this space, so we will have to see what works in the long term.

Your husband is very clever. I would never be able to get a shot as good as that. I too love the wildness about Clearwater Drive. When ever I walk my dog here she loves running through the long grass and bushes. Its nice to walk somewhere that isnt artificial and lanscaped. However I do think that if the area isnt built on then it will be smartened up in some way. I think the countdown has begun on what will happen with this land and I dont think it will stay as it is for too much longer. Which is a shame but I would still much prefer it to stay as open space and not have houses built on it. Shame its not up to us - No one seems to actually listen to what Quedgeley Residents want.

As I said my husband took this ,I wanted to share it with everybody -He noticed the possibilities and walked across to the open space with his camera and tripod and this was the result !Because it has a long exposure it picked up on the residual light remember it was just dark enough to see the stars .
I think part of Clearwater's charm is its 'wildness' Any tidying up might affect the diversity of wildlife there Parts of it are wetland a lot of the time .Mind you a bench or two wouldnt go amiss to sit and enjoy the tranquility (!There is a basket ball park bit further along on Fieldcourt Drive I think in the teenagers area there .)It would be a shame to loose it to yet more houses!

Beautiful photo. The sky is an absolutely beautiful colour. It is such a shame that they want to build on this land when like you say Glevumgirl it could be put to much better use. I think it does need tidying up a bit as it is a bit wild at the moment but saying that kids and animals seem to love the wildness. It should definitely become a playground or have some nice picnic benches or a basketball court or something along those lines rather than just another lot of houses. Surely there is enough houses in Quedgeley already!!!

I live nearby too and when we moved in (18 years ago)we were promised a school .In the end they decided to build the school in Elmore lane( Meadowside School)I guess that it was to cover the estates at Green farm and maybe Copeland park. They figured that the existing schools could cope the children on our side of Quedgeley (mines at Fieldcourt Infant school )It seems only fair that we have some use of the land for our children to run and play on .Our nearest park is the recreation ground opp.Warners garage -thats quite a walk for little legs!We must do all we can to save some green space in Quedgeley .
