Partying against bad boys

A STREET party is to take place this weekend to fight back against recent anti-social behaviour.
People living in Lakenheath, in Kingsway, Quedgeley, say they have been subject to several incidents of anti social behaviour over the past few years.
But residents want to fight back against the bad publicity the street has received and bring neighbours closer together.
Samantha Draper, 30, who organised the event said there would be plenty of activities for the street’s residents.
The mum-of-five said: “There will be lots of things to do for kids.
“There will be bouncy castles and the fire brigade and police will be there to show them their equipment.
“We want to bring the street closer together and move on together,” she said.
The event has been funded partly by Severn Vale Housing and also by residents.
The housing society contributed £150 towards costs and £5 was collected from every household.
The event will include two bouncy castles, and a police car and fire engine for children to have a look at.
There will also be face painting and music.
A cold buffet will include sandwiches, crisps and cheese and pineapple.
Samantha added: “We hope this encourages other residents in the area to do the same.”
The street party will run tomorrow from 12pm-8pm.
