A MAN who put his arm through a driver’s car window had to be taken to hospital when the startled motorist stalled – throwing his attacker to the floor.

The man, a 50-year-old from Hardwicke, knew the driver of the car, from Stroud, but it is believed they had been arguing.

He put his arm through the 23-year-old’s window.

Police said he then opened the driver’s door, launching himself on the man.

But the driver’s foot slipped off the clutch, throwing the suspect to the floor.

He had facial and head injuries and was taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital.

The incident happened at around 7pm on Tuesday, July 27, outside Blockbusters on Olympus Park in Quedgeley.

A spokesman from Gloucester Police said: “He had his arm through the driver’s side window.

“The car was already in reverse. The suspect opened the driver’s door and launched after the victim.

“The driver’s foot slipped off the clutch.”

He added police were no longer investigating the incident as the 23-year-old driver did not want to press charges against the older man.
