I have to agree Trixie44 I would have thought that there would have been a much bigger gap. I wonder if people are un decided about what their feelings are about the incinerator due to lack of information and knowledge regarding the effect and consequences the incinerator will have on their community. All the information provided so far has either been from pro incinerator groups or groups thoroughly opposing the idea so there doesn't seem to be any unbiased information out there.

I think your right, I would like to see a more joined up approach between City and County council to get better recycling rates, and a more sensible approach to recycling itself. I would be looking at the recycling reclamation centres they have in the likes of Worcestershire and then see where that leaves us.
Unfortunately we have a system that is spread between both councils, one is responsible for collection and the other is responsible for disposal, and they don't seem to work well together to produce an optimum solution.
If we recycled all we could, it would be interesting to see just how much there would be do dispose of.

ReportIt seems a shame that local people will have to pay for a lack of brain storming between Councils. As you have said in you comment there are other options and these should be looked at first before the extreme option of a waste incinerator at Javelin Park. We are a family of very good recyclers and do not have that much waste and as we are a busy family of 4 it goes to show that most of the stuff that we throw away can be recycled and it just takes a moments thought before you throw it away.
