Quedgeley really needs a new doctors surgery. I have recently had to wait a week and a half to get a very important nurses appointment at St James Doctors in Quedgeley. I am not blaming the receptionists, nurses or doctors who all work really hard it is simply that there are too many people to see and not enough time. I read all the time about new houses planned for Quedgeley and if it has taken me a week and a half to get an appointment now I dread to think what it will be like with all these new houses going up and no new doctors surgery!!!

I agree Trixie44 I too have had trouble getting an appointment at this surgery. They have brought in a new system where you have to ring on the day to get an appointment in an attempt to see people who are urgent more quickly but this has meant that I had to spend 20 minutes on the phone every morning for a few days to get an appointment. Something needs to be done. They can’t keep building houses and not building the facilities.

With Kingsway being built with no doctors and more houses planned it is putting a huge strain on our doctors. I find myself feeling hugely frustrated when I get off the phone to the doctors after trying to make an appointment. There is so few available slots and are normally a good few days after they are needed. I really hope that housing planners are thinking about building facilities and not just houses as they will find the new houses harder and harder to sell without adding some more facilities.
