Quedgeley Under-Nines 6 Hucclecote Under-Nines 1
HUCCLECOTE started brightly on a smaller pitch to what they are used to and put early pressure on Quedgeley, who were rarely able to get out of their own half.
Against the run of play Hucclecote conceded, but they soon equalised when Joshua McGill fired home another free-kick from a tight angle.
Hucclecote could not make any more of their control and all they had to show for the rest of the half was an effort from Tyrese Lewis-Sadler that went just wide.
As Quedgeley came into the game more goalkeeper Jamie Clifford pulled off a couple of fine saves and Seb Rowe and Sonny Burge tackled well in defence.
But the pressure told and Quedgeley scored two goals in the run-in to half-time to take a 3-1 lead at the break.
The next goal would be crucial and it fell to Quedgeley, who extended their lead.
The game started to stretch and Hucclecote began to get closer but defensive errors were never far away. This left Quedgeley with more chances to increase their lead, and they did to find the back of the net twice more.
Hucclecote hit the post through Moore and battled to the final whistle, but at 6-1 were always facing a difficult task.
On his Hucclecote debut Alex Bate-Williams shone through and was voted man of the match by the home coach, with Moore picking up the Hucclecote coaches' award.
