Despite a Met Office yellow alert, the snow failed to put in much of an appearance this morning.

Snow turns to puddles as temperatures rise and drizzle descends.
Flakes fell overnight across much of the county but little evidence was to be seen in many parts by daybreak this morning, when flakes turned to drizzle as temperatures rose to an average 4C.
Further light showers travelling across the county from the south-east are predicted for later tonight, falling as snow above about 200m, where more than 5cm is possible.
However, more significant is the risk of icy roads as surfaces freeze behind the showers.
