Quedgeley Learning Community

Quedgeley Learning Community (QLC) is a new partnership between Severn Vale School and 8 local primary schools; Beech Green Primary, Field Court Infants, Field Court Juniors, Hardwicke Parochial Primary, Haresfield C of E Primary, Kingsway Primary, Longney C of E Primary and Meadowside Primary.

The partnership is only about 5-6 weeks old and already a lot of work has been done and ties made between the schools.

A choir has been started with pupils ranging from year 2 to year 10.

There is also plans to set up a generational choir to include adults.

There is a QLC Super School Parliament which is made up from 2 pupils from each school and at their first meeting they set up a list of priorities.

Their priorities include working with local charities, sustainabilty and other eco issues.

There is also a QLC literary group who are producing some great writing and are also going to do a poetry workshop.

There is a QLC launch planned to be held at Severnvale which will give all the teachers from the involved schools to meet under one roof.

Other ideas that have come from QLC is the Quedgeley Olympics and a QLC radio.
