Nuisance bikers assault pensioner on farm in Longney

A man who confronted nuisance motorcyclists on his land was assaulted at the weekend.

The incident happened at a farm in Longney at about 4.30pm on Saturday.

After hearing that there were three people on dirt bikes on his land, the 65-year-old victim approached the riders and asked them to leave.They refused, then proceeded to punch him, inflicting facial injuries including cuts, bruises and a fractured cheekbone, for which he was treated in Gloucestershire Royal Hospital.

The victim's assailants are described as being in their late teens or early 20s. One is believed to have been black and the other two white.

Anyone with any information about this shocking incident, or who believes they may know the identities of the people involved, are asked to call 101 quoting incident 357 of March 9.

In some cases Crimestoppers may offer a reward of up to £1,000 where information leads to a conviction.

* A 16-year-old boy from Gloucester has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm in connection with the case and bailed to attend Gloucester Police Station on April 25, pending further inquiries.
