A call has gone out to Kingsway residents to give up an hour or so of their time to help in a joint initiative to clean up their village.

Kingsway Residents Association would like to arrange a community litter pick and is looking for willing volunteers to join in clearing up their community.

Gloucester City Council has agreed to provide KRA with all the necessary equipment - now all that is needed is a few willing hands to use it.

A spokesperson for KRA said: "It has been a long-standing aspiration of the Kingsway Residents Association to improve the appearance of our village by introducing a community litter pick.

"Gloucester City Council has agreed to provide the necessary equipment, but we need to know how many would be interested in joining us in collecting litter from our streets and open spaces.

"Once we have an idea of numbers interested, this will allow the council to provide appropriate equipment for our use.

"We will be setting a date for the first event once we have the equipment and we look forward to seeing the improvement that we can all make by working together."

Residents wanting to join the community litter pick are asked to register their interest by contacting Kingsway Residents Assocation through its websiteemailing or posting a message on the Kingsway Facebook page.
