Daniels Brook Flood Alleviation
By Frederickwood | Saturday, December 31, 2011, 13:10
Kingsway residents will be aware of the ongoing flood alleviation work at Daniels Brook. The Enviroment Agency are doing this to prevent a recurrance of the flooding we saw in the area in 2007. Of course, this work has required clearing trees and vegetation which has caused some consern locally. Both the EA and Gloucester City Council have plans to rectify this and there is a program to plant new trees and landscape the area. Importantly, residents will be consulted about the scope of these plans, giving everyone a chance to say what the scheme should include. More of this in the New Year

Flooding is a problem which effects the whole of the County and flooding will become even more of a problem as development continues. It is very important to think about these things when you move home as I can imagine that losing your belongings in a flood would be horrible. It is nice to know that the Council will be landscaping the area after they have had to clear some trees.
