Baseball Bat Attack in Quedgeley

A 42 year old man was attacked with a baseball and had his bike stolen in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

The man was cycling near Aldi at around 3am on Tuesday morning when a car started to persue him.

Once the car drew level to the cyclist a man got out and attacked the victim with a baseball bat hitting him several times around the head.

The man was telling the victim that once he had his Carrera bike back then the victim could get his bike back.

The man then put the victim's beige Kona bike into the back of his car and drove off.

The bike is valued around £150.

The victim was taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital where he was treated for head injuries from the Baseball bat.

The victim has told Police that he does not know the man, has never seen him before and has not stolen the man's Carrera bike.

The attacker is described as either black or mixed race, around 6" tall, clean shaven, dark curly hair and around 30 years old.

He was wearing just a pair of boxers and trainers.

The car he was driving is thought to be a dark blue BMW 1 series.

    I agree Trixie it does sound like the attacker was drunk or on drugs. Why on earth otherwise would he just be in trainers and boxers!!!! It hasn't exactly been warm recently. Very strange story. Hope the victim recovers quickly and the attackers is caught and punished.

    Sounds like a case of mistaken identity to me which is unfortunate for the victim!! Seems very strange that the attacker was driving round Quedgeley at 3 in the morning in a pair of boxers. Sounds to me like he may have been on drugs. Wish a speedy recovery to the victim.
